Description:

Adds some new electrical components to the game.

Important note:

this is my first published mod, and as such things may be unbalanced, bugged, or downright broken, and some mechanics may change as I update it. If you have any suggestions (within reason), let me know in the comments.
(also note that none of these save the power display are destructible right now, I’ll get to that eventually)

Some of what the mod adds:

  • A digital power display, like the one in the alpha build, with colorable text
  • The Thermo-Resistor and Hydro-Resistor, which change conductivity when heated or made wet, respectively
  • A power generator with customizable output levels
  • The Thermal generator, which creates power from a heat difference between its two thermal inputs
  • The Dynamo generator, which converts rotation into power (like a real generator)
  • The Accelerator Box – the inverse of the Dampening Box – with a configurable max speed
  • The Customizable Resistor, which can have its conductivity changed either by context menu or signals.
  • The Capacitor, stores and release electricity at a customizable rate.
  • The Tachometer, which measures angular velocity. (meant for use with the Dynamo Generator)
  • A new tool, the Slipless Belt. (This is experimental!, use with caution!)
  • The Target Tracker, which points at a selected object.
  • The Small and Large Liquid Tanks, which can hold water, lava, or sulfuric acid.
  • The Liquid Redistributor, a tool that can pull/push fluids from containers without need for a blood vessel wire.
  • The Multi-Detector, a component that outputs a propogation signal when its value (which can be either charge, temperature, wetness, velocity, acceleration, or altitude) is above a threshold.
  • The Omnisensor, a machine that displays information about detected objects. Has its own interface!
  • The Hand Welder, a tool that can repair broken machines and connect objects.
  • Two new tools, the Target Linker and Unlinker, used with the Target Tracker and Multi-Detector to set their target.
  • The Pad Controller, which has a surface with customizable friction and bounciness.

    • Added the Diode, which only conducts electricity one way.
    • Added the Thermo-Engine, which consumes liquids to generate large amounts heat or coldness.

    • Slightly buffed the Thermal Generator
  • 1.12.2 – Added the Liquid Gate, a liquid container that triggers propogation wires when it’s filled.

  • 1.9 – added the Multi-Detector, a complicated device which outputs a signal when its condition is met.
  • 1.8.1 – Slightly updated sprites of all Resistors, fixed a bug involving the Thermo-Resistor

    • Merged the Small Water Tank and Small Lava Tank into a single Small Liquid Tank
    • Added the Large Liquid Tank
    • Added sulfuric acid as an option for Liquid Tanks
    • Fixed some residual bugs involving subobjects

    • Various small optimizations and fixes
  • 1.6 – Added the Small Water Tank and Small Lava Tank, buffed the Thermal Generator’s power output by 500%
  • 1.5 – Added the Target Tracker, (hopefully!) fixed some bugs with the Slipless Belt
  • 1.4 – Added the Slipless Belt, fixed a minor visual bug where the Dynamo and Thermal Generator’s subobjects wouldn’t flip correctly
  • 1.3 – Added the Tachometer, balance changes for the Dynamo Generator (~1500% buff to its power generation)
  • 1.2 – Added the Capacitor, bugfixes involving the Thermal Generator
  • 1.1 – Added the Customizable Resistor, other minor fixes
