I’m sorry but I tried to fix this with v10 but it failed misserably and I do not yet know how to fix it.
In order to fix the issue where your cities disappear upon building certain buildings.
Go to C:Users[User Name]Documentsmy gamesSid Meier’s Civilization 5MODSMiddle Earth Civilizations (v 9)XMLMEC_UnitArtInfoCulturalVariation.xml and delete the 6 lines that start with <Buildings> and end with </Buildings>.
In order to fix the issue where as the Wood Elves you cannot capture cities with Melee Units. Remove

Versions 9 of this Mod utilize LUA. They may be compatible MPMPM – Multiplayer Mod DLC-hack[forums.civfanatics.com] by Gedemon and updated by cicero225.
Version 8 and earlier version of this mod only uses XML, and should be compatible with multiplayer if you can figure out how to get it to work. One method is called Civilization 5 Multiplayer Modding by Biux. The easiest method to use but with the most restrictions is MP Mod Manager[forums.civfanatics.com] by JdH. There are instructions on how to setup a multiplayer LAN game in one of the discussions below. Special Thanks to Captain Bligh for spending his time to figure it out for everyone.
Extra special thanks to Civitar and Nomad or What for their efforts to create and distribute fantasy units. Civitar has provided the Elf, Dwarf, and Gondor Models. Nomad or What has provided the Goblin and Orc models. Uruk provided the Orc Catapult. Their work can be found within the civfanatics forums.
The mod is available in English, Italian, and for the most part Polish. Special thanks to vadoalmax for providing the Italian translation. Special thanks to PeaCross for providing the Polish translation.
There is a soundtrack for the ‘evil’ civs, and one for the ‘good’ civs. There are also individual War and Peace themes for some of the Civs. The soundtrack and other music were taken from EA’s Battle for Middle Earth 2. For a full list of special thanks please see the MEC Special Thanks PDF included with the mod. There is also the MEC Documentations PDF that details out the specifics about each civ.
Middle Earth True Start Location features two maps that aim to provide the best True Start Location experience possible for the civilizations from my main mod Middle Earth Civilizations. See its Mod Page for full details. Links available in the collection above.
Hermur has created a scenario. You can find it on CivFinatics.[forums.civfanatics.com]
Chadowz has made a map with True Start Locations. You can find it on Steam Workshop.
The newer civs may still need to be balanced. Please download the mod and play it all the way through before making comments about the game balance. Also try to judge the civilizations in a wholistic manner. Some civilizations may have Overpowered Traits but weak UUs. (I.E. Korea and in my mod the Hobbits). You should discuss game balancing in the appropriate discussion below.
I have attempted to keep most of the mod accurate to the lore by using The Lord of The Rings Wiki, Wikipedia, David Day’s Book "Tolkein A Dictionary", and Karen Wynn Fonstad’s book “The Atlas of Middle Earth.” When I couldn’t or decided not to use a canonical source I usually used a non-canonical but relevant source like other Lord of the Rings Games (BFME2 mostly) and the Movies.
Development of this project ended more than a year ago. I encourage you to learn how to mod and produce any additional civs that you desire. You are welcome to use my mod as a reference, but please thank me for it and provide a link to this mod or my collection.
