Hello everyone. Let me introduce my first mod for TW3. It is remodeling and retexturing for the Norsca faction. Why Norsca? Because it is my favorite faction, and it has very low quality in native implementation. I was very disappointed when I first tried WH3 and discovered that this faction hadn’t improved. I’ve tried to find something from Worksop but there is nothing for my taste. So, I decided to create it by myself.
The idea.
I have refrained from modifying the database and focused solely on adjusting the VariantMeshDefinitions files. This approach ensures that the mod remains functional and does not become obsolete. Based on my experience with WH2 modding, updating mods can be quite frustrating, especially after each patch release. It will always work even outdated.
Compatibility.
As I mentioned this mod just replaces VariantMeshDefinitions files. So it is save game compatibility and is compatible with any other mods. It is possible that some mods can override this mod. Also, the reference to native VariantMeshDefinitions files can be changed in the database then you only will not see the effect of using this mod on some units. If you see another unit’s visual look just raise it in the mods’ order. Yes, it is completable with SFO just place it higher.
The diversity.
The Norsca has a low-level civilization. But the equipment of units looks like it was manufactured in one plant. For example, there are only 3 variants of helms for most units. elite units have only 5 variants. In my mod, you will get more than 100 variants of helms and each unit has a unique set of weapons, shields, helms, and shoulders.
You must know that the number of variants for each part of unit models for middle video settings is limited to 3 and for high video settings is limited to 5. But there is a way to overcome this limit and I do in some cases.
Performance.
I have spent more than 3 months on this mod and most time was spent on lod models (low-quality models that are used when you move the camera away). So the performance is as high enough. I can afford a high level of video settings on my laptop with GeForce 3060.

Improving the view of SFO units. This mod is compatible with SFO. But SFO added more units to the Norsca roster and I see how it can be visually improved.
Additional units mods.
First of all, we have ROR units only for two of the chaos gods. I want to add two more units.
Daughters of the Serpent. It will be an archer cavalry or infantry unit.
‘Brotherhood of the Great Eagle. Heavy cavalry unit or perhaps 2h sword infantry.
One or two ROR-unit will not break a balance, but add some additional tactics for one army.
Then I am thinking about increasing the marauders’ tier and replacing their place in a balance with weak-looking models with a normal human skeleton. Something like Bondsman warriors and spearman. You can see the example in my mods for WH2. Also, I want to change the tactics of regular marauders and champions by giving them two axe shots. Like a Roman legioners. The animation set must be adjusted. Will see if it is possible.
Female units: archers, and warriors available only in a garrison.
