BR Class 321
British Rail Engineering Limited Class 321 EMU developed on the basis of the Mk 3 coach. Introduced in 1988 and capable of 161 kph, the type saw use throughout England on lines electrified with 25 kV overhead wires. Between 2014 and 2016, 30 units were modernised as part of the Renatus project. 31 units remain in service, a further 12 were shortened to form Class 320/4 units and sent to Glasgow. In 2022, 5 units were converted into parcel trains.
