Mission Briefing: Operation Iron Dagger
Comrade Commander,
The Americans have seized the island of Altis, a strategic position with an airbase capable of projecting NATO power deep into the Black Sea. Your mission is to lead your carrier strike group in a decisive assault to destroy the airbase and neutralize all enemy forces in the area.
The Orsk landing ship and its escort have deployed SAM and anti-ship missile sites on the nearby island of Stratis. These forces are engaging the American defense fleet to buy time and weaken their naval strength. Use this distraction to close the gap with your carrier group and deliver a decisive blow. Additionally, you have the option to bring the Orsk into the bay at Altis to land T-72 tanks, providing ground support for the final assault. This maneuver carries significant risk but could decisively shift the battle in your favor.
Altis is heavily fortified with land-based SAM sites, while the bay is defended by an Iowa-class battleship guarding landing ships, supported by destroyers. Additionally, a Tarawa-class landing ship has been spotted off the coast and is a high-priority target. Be cautious, as civilian shipping traffic near the Bosphorus could complicate operations.
