Description:

Build watermills, windmills and caravanserais as it was supposed to be with cultural traditions: Forest Folks (Warden), Hill Dwellers, City Keepers or Caravaneers.

Description

There was a bug about building these, and recently paradox fixed them but not perfectly and not what I wanted, so this mod now change those behaviors to what I think is balanced. I also tweaked a bit the AI chance to build them, AI should prioritize these more now.

  • City keepers tradition allow building infinite watermills, windmills, and CARVANSERAI, in cities as descripted.
  • Forest and Hill dwellers which allow watermills windmills with logging and hill farms as long as the logging or hill farms tier 4 are present. So you could build them in baronies not only in capitals. Making these traditions still useful after getting windmills innovation.
  • Caravaneers now allow infinite caravanserai anywhere, instead of only two.
  • Caravaneers now give a little bit better caravanserai, and industrious give better windmills and watermills, so not just for an early era, which is kinda useless in late eras.
  • Most importantly, these traditions are now compatible with each other. E.g. caravaneers and city keepers means you could build all of them in cities, and caravanserais in castles and temples.

Compatibility

This fix will be compatible with all mods if they don’t alter the watermills, windmills or caravanserai.

Note

This bug first occurred in Oct 2024, with 1.13 update [forum.paradoxplaza.com]. I think it is fixed around 1.17 or 1.18, early 2026.
Since the if/else in this buildings are long and complicated, so if any bugs, let me know.
