Halo Infinite Evolved
Halo Infinite Evolved is a campaign mod for Halo Combat Evolved that borrows some ideas from Halo Infinite as well as introducing some original ideas to the mix. The mod includes new encounters, weapons, vehicles, scenery, environments, and a balance overhaul.
WEAPONS
The Fuel Rod Gun and the Flamethrower from the PC port of Combat Evolved have been added to the campaign.
New weapons have been added including the Gauss Rifle, Battle Rifle, SMG, Chaingun, Unstable Plasma Pistol, and Unstable Plasma Rifle.
Existing weapons have been modified with new textures and some small balance changes.
The player can use a limited zoom function on any weapon for a clearer shot, however this does not affect accuracy.
VEHICLES
The Rocket Warthog, Gauss Warthog, Transport Warthog and the Wraith have been added to the campaign.
The Scorpion moves faster, fires quicker, does more damage, and is more accurate.
SCENERY & ENVIRONMENTAL STORYTELLING
Scenery has been added to the campaign to add an additional layer of environmental storytelling.
Flood biomass has been added to some levels in the second half of the game courtesy of the Combat Revolved team.
Certain levels have had their time of day and/or weather adjusted including Halo, Truth and Reconciliation, and The Silent Cartographer.
Secrets can be found containing weapons, ammo, health, and power-ups.
SOUND
The Scorpion tank has been given a new firing sound.
Several music tracks have been added/replaced with tracks from Halo CEA, Halo 2, Halo 2A, and Halo 3.
Elite dialogue is now spoken in English like the later Halo titles.
ENCOUNTERS
Allies cannot be killed by the player, except from behind.
UNSC forces appear more often throughout the campaign, even in the second half of the game.
ODST units now appear in the campaign.
Marines can now be found carrying Shotguns, Rocket Launchers, Flamethrowers, and Battle Rifles.
Enemies have been slightly updated with small tweaks to make them more tougher and more aggressive.
Depending on the area, enemies may also appear in greater numbers.
Certain Flood combat forms can now carry flamethrowers.
Grunt Ultras join the ranks of the Covenant, carrying a Unstable Plasma Pistol and are protected with a weak shield.
DIFFICULTY
Difficulty options are generally what you would expect from Halo, except for Easy difficulty.
Easy difficulty has been overhauled to essentially become a sandbox mode, where you, your vehicles, and your AI companions are cannot be killed under most circumstances.
Despite this, the player can still be killed by a large fall or self inflicted damage, and friendlies may still be killed by an attack from behind.
Enemy balancing is comparable to Legendary difficulty.
F. A. Q.
Q: The game freezes at the loading screen? How do I fix this?
A: For CE mods to work properly, you must install both the CE Multiplayer and Campaign both installed.
Make sure both of these are installed.
Q: Is there a grappling hook? Will one be added?
A: Halo Infinite Evolved does not feature a grappling hook.
Unfortunately, it will likely not be added as I do not have the time nor skills to implement one.
Q: How do I get past the locked doors on the second bridge in AOTCR?
A: Near the locked doors at the end of the bridge, there are some Covenant crates. You can use these to jump across to the next bridge.
