this is my first upload! this is a map that i have worked on for almost a year and never had the chance to put it on here i was planning on putting on here back in Halloween time. but due to my lack of knowledge of adding maps to steam workshop which i finally know how to know! i am able to let anyone play my creations now
map story:
in this map there was a guy that just moved in this house. but. the guy has been experiencing something very odd and strange that’s left him uneased! the previous guy that lived in this house was a very psychotic and abusive wrathful father that goes by the name of David that was a mess! he had a daughter and a wife which they left him due to his psychotic behavior so after the wife have left him and her little daughter. the guy had died from a unknown cause which the paramedics believes it was heart related or something so after weeks the new guy brought this house and decided to move in but due to the things that happens in this house. the guy has become uneased and needs you to assist the house for a while while he goes and stays in a hotel and try to figure out what is going on with it! could be it a ghost? or could it be David’s evil spirit? it’s up to you to decide on what it could be or how you will handle it’s situation!
about the map:
in this map there are like over 100 randomly triggered ghost events such as doors closing or opening themselves and lights turning on or off or a near transparent shadow figure appearing in random spots for a split second and going away and objects flying or moving randomly or off of the counter and shelves and plus many more! so this map is supposed to be a fun horror map for people that like paranormal stuff! the ghost in this map is not ones like you would expect in games like phasmophobia or ghost busters! it is simply supposed to be like real life or like the one’s you see in those people’s haunted video recordings on YouTube! i have taken inspiration from phasmophobia game and those type of videos on YouTube! i wanted to make a map based off of that kind of stuff!
features:
the map is fully interactive:
you can turn the lights on or off in rooms or turn on the washing and dryer machines in the laundry room or turn the sinks on or off or the shower in the bathroom on or off or the air vents in the main living room or turn the attic light on or the stove in the kitchen and even flush the toilet!
how to play:
there is no real objective or way to beat the map. all you can do is just play around in it like normal or with friends or by yourself you can just pretend to be the guy’s friend investigating the house and figuring out what’s wrong and staying in the house for a while. and expect to experience strange things that are unsettling! i plan on adding a real objective but it’s just going to be roleplaying for now! so make sure to spend at least 30 minutes or around a hour to get full experience!
possible unfixable bugs:
some bugs in this map may not be able to be fixed even though i have tried multiple times these include!
1 the ghost might spawn and not disappear:
this is rare! but it it’s due to how the entities are in this map that triggers the events
if this happens? then just use your remover tool gun to remove it!
2 you can collide with the ghost:
this is possible but when you walk in the ghost’s path it still triggers the kill block to remove the
ghost. so i have not figured out a way to make it non collide!
2 the ghost can be killed:
yes! you can even kill the ghost but idk how to make the ghost non killable as it uses the Breen npc entity colored to
pure black! if this happens? you might need to go to admin in spawn menu settings and clear the map or find the
specific options to remove its blood and body!
3 cat picture is lit up in the dark:
it’s due to the texture’s vmt settings which is not possible to fix in hammer unless i go through modifying the
texture’s vmt file which is something i would rather not do!
until i can find a solution to these. they will have to be dealt with for now.
how the map works:
the map has a lot of different ghost spawns and events all setup by a main logic case entity that is calling each of it’s own logic cases for each specific events that is triggered by a random logic_timer

make sure to disable it as it can ruin the immersion a little bit as it tags npc’s including the ghost as it’s also using a npc model and kind of ruins the surprise of it spawning!
future updates:
this map is complete but it will be updated with new stuff and features and improvements whenever i can and contact me through steam on my profile if there are bugs that i am unaware of! hope yall enjoy this map! and feel free to comment down below!
