AD 976 – Grand Campaign – Basil II 1.0 – Demo

This is a historically accurate Grand Campaign mod set in the year AD 976 – at the beginning of the reign of Basil II of the Byzantine Empire.
This mod imports all units from the Age of Charlemagne expansion pack and many AoC and new factions into this fantastic Grand Campaign scenario.
In this demo version the only faction currently available to play as is the Byzantine Empire.
Let me know what you guys think – I think this mod has a lot of potential to be modded further by other people after the full version is released.
The mod is in a near total perfect state now, I only need to do final touches of work on it to get all the major factions playable.
This is a historically accurate mod set 500 years after the fall of Rome. This mod imports all units from the Age of Charlemagne expansion pack into a Grand Campaign scenario beginning in the year AD 976 – following the ascension of Basil II to the throne of the Byzantine Empire in the East.
Over 500 years have passed since the fall of Rome in the West, Kingdoms and Empires have risen and fell, yet Byzantium remains continuous. Over 300 years ago the armies of the Caliphate swept across the world, consigning the old Persian Empire to history, while Byzantium lost its Middle Eastern and North African territories to the advancing Muslim armies.
In the West, the Frankish Emperor Charlemagne united most of Western Europe under his rule – creating the Holy Roman Empire. With the blessing of the Pope in Rome, Charlemagne conquered the pagan tribes of Germany through conquest and extermination. With the backing of Europe’s Latin Christian Kingdoms and Empires, the Pope in Rome is now the Supreme central political authority ruling across most of Europe.
In the north, the Vikings raided across the continent, creating a reputation of dreaded and formidable warriors that plundered and conquered at will. Among those standing against them were the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of England, which have now unified into a single kingdom ruled under the crown of Wessex.
Across the South and the East, in Iberia and across the Mediterranean Sea in Africa and the Middle East, the old Umayyad Caliphate splintered into divided and warring states under the rule of powerful new Caliphs and Emirs.
