Going In Blind Rake5000 Edition
- Hides all internal layouts, keeps external visible.
- Makes the blue FOV indicator infinite for precise preview of angles.
- Removes the ugly film grain from unseen areas.
- Removes the blue grid from the map edge and replaces the low-res background with a darker high-res hexagon one to blend better with the dark areas while still showing where the map ends.
This is a tweaked version of the popular GIB mod by MyEyesAreDry / MackTheKnife. His latest GIB update removed the blue FOV indicator, keeping room layouts hidden as you plan paths, which is great. But it also makes accurate positioning impossible, because you can no longer tell what your operators can and can’t see. My tweaked version does the opposite: the blue cone goes on forever, instead of fading out like vanilla, to allow perfect positioning – and no more excuses.
Brat figured out a way to keep exteriors visible, so I adopted it from his great mod Going In Blind: Drone (Interior Only).
Danger Zones are invisible now. Making them visible would reveal the layout when hovering over a concealed unit, kind of defeating the purpose of the mod. Good news is you don’t need them! As you plan a path, a red warning marker will show when you’re entering a Danger Zone.
If you still want to enable them, simply search for "Going In Blind Rake5000 Edition.txt" to find the mod folder and then move / rename / delete:
