In many large corporations, esp US, the pay of a CEO is typically 100 times that of the average employee in a company. With this policy, the corporations are encouraged, using tax mechanisms, to redistribute a large share of the company profits to the employees. Of course, risk is that companies might start to outsource functions to avoid this in the longer term!
