EP2D
An updated version of the Russian "elektrichka"
EP2D (ЭП2Д) – DC electric trains built by the Demikhovo Machinebuilding Plant. EP2D is the upgrade to the class ED4M electric trains, featuring an updated cab design and more powerful motors. For this series, powered head cars have been developed, which allows to reduce the composition to 2-3 cars for less busy routes. They are used in Russia and Armenia as suburban trains, express trains and on Moscow Central Diameters.
