Balearic Brawl – Battle of the Balearic Islands
It is December 17th, 1984. The Bearic Islands are the gateway to the western Mediterranean and the final lifeline for NATO forces retreating from France. Capturing these islands will cut off NATO’s access to the Gibraltar Strait, isolating the remaining French forces and securing Soviet dominance in the region. The task is monumental, as a formidable American naval presence, including a carrier battle group and numerous submarines, patrols the area. Your mission is to clear the Bearic Islands of enemy naval forces to prepare the way for our marine landing group. This operation demands decisive action and precision, as heavy submarine threats are expected. One of our submarines is shadowing the American carrier group and will provide valuable intelligence to assist in your efforts.
