Prepared Spells: Kairos submod
Patch 6.1:
CA reworked Kairos’s fragment mechanic to a lighter version of what this mod does.
Using this mod now disables the CA mechanic, the new skill tree nodes have also been removed.
The main differences versus the base game system:
- Kairos can use up to 14 spells instead of 6.
- Kairos starts with 6 spell slots instead of 2 (for now), gaining 1 slot for every 3 lores of magic.
- There is no restriction on what spells you can use.
- Progression is based around defeating armies with spell casters and permanently unlocking one of their available lores of magic.
- New skill tree effects scale with the number of lores of magic known.
Requires Prepared Spells: Core
This mod makes Kairos the ultimate spell casting faction. Whenever Kairos wins a battle, he will learn one lore of magic wielded by an enemy character that he didn’t know before and unlock it for the entire faction.
There are 30 lores to unlock and you can learn them all!
Kairos’s spell tree has been removed and replaced with skills which scale with the amount of lores known. To learn spells, you will need to assign them to spell slots. These can be reassigned on the fly for free any time.
At the start of the game Kairos starts with 6 spell slots and 2 lores: metal and Tzeentch. Defeating the initial Nurgle army will unlock the lore of death (because the army general is a death caster).
For every 3 lores unlocked, an extra spell slot will be granted up to +8. The battle UI has been adjusted to accommodate this.
Spell caster lords in the faction will also be able to learn up to 3 additional spells from a single lore that has been unlocked. Exalted and Daemon price lords get 6 spell slots. Selecting a spell will permanently lock the character to the lore of the selected spell (except Kairos).
You can only learn one lore per battle even if 4 armies are involved.
The AI will benefir from the same bonuses as the player. Every turn, Kairos will select spells from his unlocked lores for every available spell slot. This selection is biased towards some spell types: wind/vortex > bombardment > breadth > direct damage > missile > hex / augment
Spell types which are not listed will not be selected.
Lords who have access to spells from different lores are treated as full spell casters of those lores. This means if you defeat Teclis, you could learn Beast/Life/Shadow/Fire/Heaven/Light or High magic.
Kairos automatically learns the lore passives for all unlocked lores
