Double Tap
Double Tap gets teleported to Rivals of Aether with one objective, embrace chaos… and be a living chaos.
Double Tap is a lockdown character that has low movement in general, but he doesn’t need some fancy speed, all he needs is his specials and his unique Gimmics to make it into battle.
Double stores dark matter the longer he is in combat, he will gain more with good hits, the dark matter is divided into 3 bars of same ammount, be careful, a good ammount can be lost or wasted if you are not careful, this daark matter can be used in 2 ways.
Double Tap loses the invincible frames on his rolls so they act as a parry but the remarkable benefit that can stun enemies on his way during the moving part of the roll if the parry connects, the more dark matter you gained, the longer the stun becomes.
Before the window after the charge of any strong attack you can press SPECIAL, if you have one filled bar of dark matter, this will be spend for an special strong attack, this are powerful on their way and vary a lot from their special-less version.
– FSpecialStrong can lock opponents into a secuence of hits after hit, it’s the one that gives the most range and with good hitbox understanding, nobody will be able to escape the secuence of strong attacks from Main cast characters.
– USpecialStrong rises up to the sky trapping them into a tornado formed by yourself, this can actually put opponents in a bad situation, it works good as low percent combo linker, and same as a good high percent killer in platforms.
– DSpecialStrong makes Double Tap rise with blades beneath him, this attack can trap recoveries from below, but you are very vulnerable from attacks from the top.
A charge attack that can change between 3 versions, one stronger than the other the more you hold SPECIAL, you can store the charge to release it later with the SHIELD input, if you find good space to charge it, it becomes a great finisher when you release it.
BONUS: If Oscura and Materia are in stage and ready to receive orders, press ATTACK to order them at the same time.
Throw Oscura, one of Double’s allies, once hits someone, it will follow the target, you can make him attack again pressing Fspecial again.
Throw Materia into combat, you can differentiate it with Oscura because of the cowboy hat, once enters in combat, it will lock first at his leader, but you can make him change target hitting an opponent, if you press Dspecial you can order them to attack quicker, but it won’t follow orders if you ask him too late, the sounds and the fact they won’t follow the target tell you when you can’t.
Transform into a bat and reach the sky, hold SPECIAL to continue the flight a little longer, you can get rid of the pratfall if you:
– Use it on the ground.
– Hit someone during the rise.
– Send it downwards.
Double Tap is an MLP:FIM OC, (He is not Fast Tap, aka me to be clear), he is the demi-god of chaos, and if you know who is the god of chaos, you’ll see that whatever Double Tap does, is just the beginning.
