Sega Dreamcast BIOS Water (Animated)
The background in the system menus on the dreamcast was a cool, undulating wave of water that loops.
Turns out it’s rendered in real time, so I couldn’t extract the image alone from the files. I emulated the BIOS in redream at 1080p equivalent, recorded footage of various menus within it, cropped visible sections of the background wave, and synched it up to a loop. Unfortunately, the clouds in the upper-half were not on a good loop. I ended up just removing them and masking them over with a gradient.
I’m sure there was a much more elegant way to do this, and maybe someone else can.
