SnarkyDev Know Thine Enemy – Resurgency
I created this mod in order to understand how good the enemies actually are and what their equipment is so that I can understand how the devs have tuned the enemies for the most part. Turns out they are pretty bad and they don’t have much equipment. This poorly conceived mod I gave a hasty spit polish so that I could upload it allows you to play as the bad bad guys. Insurgents, Blackheads, Gunners, Advisors with all the stuff they have in the base game. Hopefully I have not affected the normal enemies you will run into along with their equipment. These bad guys can use battle honors to individually upgrade their combat capabilities which give significant bonuses to accuracy, aim time etc. If you want to play as a squad of bad guy equivalents then I guess you can. Warning. You don’t have much. Consider this a challenge. I sincerely doubt anyone can survive two weeks ironman with this squad even if they are max level.
If I decide to make this more than a project of curiosity things that probably need added (but make the mod a mod and not just a way to play the insurgent bad guys)
1. Theory of proficiency/skill advancement. Perhaps battle honor related boosts & Battle honor equipment together.
2. Survivability and recovery. Handhelds, Equipment, Armour.
3. Doctrine support
4. Access to Scopes & Ammo for the weapons they have – I didn’t want to cause any change to the base game so whatever the weapons have is what they come with and show as.. which makes for a little bit of a scuffed appearance because the devs clearly did not intend on anyone doing what I did.
5. New attack types to enable so that there is more than wild ak fire (though it is quite charming to see)
Hopefully the above should be possible without affecting the base game at all and the basic enemies that you can run into.
I might make an SSI/Irregular version of this mod to help me understand the more elite bad guys capabilities and gear.
