How to Add SEA1400 & SEA4000 Weapons to Your Vessels in Sea Power
This guide will walk you through the process of integrating modern Australian missile systems into your existing vessel configuration files for the game *Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age*, using the SEA1400 & SEA4000 mod. You must ensure this folder is loaded in after any vessels or submarines you’d like to add this mod too.
—
Step 1: Locate the Vessels Folder
Navigate to the directory where your Steam Workshop content for *Sea Power* is installed. From there, locate the following folder:
“`
C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent12862203435024139 or the another mod you’d like to add this too.
“`
Open the file of the ship you’d like to edit, e.g.:
“`
ran_ddg_brisbane.ini
“`
—
Step 2: Update the Weapon Magazines
Find the section in the `.ini` file titled:
“`
[———- WeaponMagazines ———-]
“`
Within this section, update each `Ammunition1` entry to point to the correct modded weapon files. The names must exactly match the `.ini` filenames in the `ammunition` folder of the mod.
Here is an example:
“`ini
[WeaponMagazineMK141]
NumberOfAmmunitionTypes=1
Ammunition1=ran_rim-66m-6
Ammunition1_Count=16
Collider=coll_mk26_mag_1
ModuleType=MediumMagazine
[WeaponMagazineMK141_2]
NumberOfAmmunitionTypes=1
Ammunition1=ran_rim-162 essm blk2
Ammunition1_Count=40
Collider=coll_mk26_mag_1
ModuleType=MediumMagazine
[WeaponMagazineMK141_3]
NumberOfAmmunitionTypes=1
Ammunition1=ran_rim-174b
Ammunition1_Count=16
Collider=coll_mk26_mag_1
ModuleType=MediumMagazine
[WeaponMagazineMK141_4]
NumberOfAmmunitionTypes=1
Ammunition1=ran_rgm-109e mst
Ammunition1_Count=6
Collider=coll_mk26_mag_1
ModuleType=MediumMagazine
“`
Each `Ammunition1` value corresponds to a new missile introduced in the SEA1400 & SEA4000 mod. Ensure the files are present in the `ammunition` folder.
—
Step 3: Load NSM Missiles into Weapon Systems
For NSM missiles, they are not loaded via magazines but directly into the appropriate missile launchers (typically MK141 launchers). Locate your `[WeaponSystem]` sections and ensure the NSM is loaded like this:
“`ini
[WeaponSystem9] #MK141 Port
Type=Missile
SystemName=MK141
AssociatedSensors=SensorSystem2,SensorSystem7
Mount=Dummy
MountPosition=-0.0651,0.1305,-0.1720
NumberOfContainers=1
Container1=Dummy
Container1_Position=0,0,0
Container1_Rotation=-35,90,0
PreferredArcs=1,179
Ammunition=ran_rgm-184a nsm
DelayBetweenLaunches=2.0
SharedLaunchInterval=0.25
HideWithActiveDamageModel=True
Collider=coll_mk141_port
[WeaponSystem10] #MK141 Stbd
Type=Missile
SystemName=MK141
AssociatedSensors=SensorSystem2,SensorSystem7
Mount=Dummy
MountPosition=0.0651,0.1305,-0.1670
NumberOfContainers=1
Container1=Dummy
Container1_Position=0,0,0
Container1_Rotation=-35,-90,0
PreferredArcs=-179,-1
Ammunition=ran_rgm-184a nsm
DelayBetweenLaunches=2.0
SharedLaunchInterval=0.25
HideWithActiveDamageModel=True
Collider=coll_mk141_starboard
“`
This sets up the NSM on both port and starboard launchers.
—
Step 4: Save and Launch
After editing the `.ini` file:
1. Save your changes.
2. Launch *Sea Power*.
3. Test your updated vessel in a custom scenario.
—
Notes:
– Ensure all references match the exact `.ini` file names in the `ammunition` folder.
– Editing files incorrectly can crash your game. Back up your vessel file before making changes.
– These instructions assume you have already subscribed to and downloaded the SEA1400 & SEA4000 mod.
