Description:

Welcome,

Yes, this is yet another full reskin of the vanilla units from Attila: Total War (see Q&A section).

So, what makes it different from the others?

This reskin is intended as a bridge between various mods found on the Attila and Rome II workshops.

Like the excellent Vanilla Reskin Overhaul (Rome II) and Grand Campaign Reskin by Taste of Capitalism, this mod heavily relies on vanilla models, along with a few assets from Rome II, and a lot from Britannia.
This combination results in a strong visual coherence, while still preserving the original "vanilla" charm of the game.

But the twist lies in another major influence: Fireforged Empire. As in Fireforged Empire, all unit colors have been reworked — no more strict faction colors. I reworked the color schemes of clothing and shields based on the historical research of Michel Pastoureau. This results in a wide variety of colors, though rarely vivid, to reflect how hard it was to preserve dyes from fading due to sunlight and wear. Elite units, however, often feature more intense and vibrant colors.

Regarding equipment, I did my best with vanilla models and what I could import from other Total War games. My goal was to stay as historically accurate as possible, while allowing for some liberties to highlight differences between unit types. I chose to represent the period from 420 to 480 AD — partly because most reskins focus either earlier or later, partly because that’s the period described in the base game, and finally because many in-game models actually belong to a very late (sometimes even medieval) era — for example, very limited Intercisa helmet variety 😢.

Anyway, this is my first mod and my first real contribution — and I’m proud to add my stone to the building!

Q & A:

– What does the mod do?
It reskins all leaders, generals and units from the Grand Campaign.

– Is the mod finished?
Yes

– What is the mod compatible with?
Everything that doesn’t alter unit skins or faction colors.

– Is the mod historically accurate?
Yes and no. I’ve done my best, but between the eccentric vanilla models and the lack of information on certain cultures, some compromises had to be made. In general, you can consider this mod more historical than something like Taste of Capitalism’s Grand Campaign, but less historical than Fireforged Empire. Above all, I aimed for overall consistency and visual coherence.

– Can I use or modify this mod?
Of course! A link to the original is appreciated but not required.

If you have feedback, suggestions, or spot any issues, feel free to leave a comment.
