NTS: No Independents
Does two things:
Removes the ability of ALL races to steal research. No Tech Stealing.
Prevents any race from being used for independent worlds, preventing them from being made.
However, when certain independent colonies are forced by events, the game will fallback to "Berserk AI" (lol). To have absolutely no independents, disable events in galaxy generation.
Not compatible with any other mod that touches races, including other NTS mods or XL. Must have all expansions. Up to date for the Tactics update. Once activated on the mods list, the game must be restarted. Only works for new games after doing so.
Its easy to do. I don’t plan to make a non-expansion compatible version. Might do one without NTS if someone asks for it.
I think this ‘no independents’ idea isn’t a good one; but sqeaky wheel and all that. To do it yourself;
mod your XML races files to remove all instances of
<PreventUseAsIndependent>false</PreventUseAsIndependent>
…then this above "Bonuses"…
<PreventUseAsIndependent>true</PreventUseAsIndependent>
…for all races in the race files.
