Description:

The Rifleman is a versatile class with improved Overwatch. Carries Assault Rifle and rockets for the Anti-Tank.

As part of the class design, the Rifleman does not have a secondary weapon. They make up for it with overwatch and direct fire as well as resupplying the Anti-Tank with rockets. Ammunition is a limiting factor to their effectiveness in sustaining fire support.

The class is made with a modern themed playthrough in mind, but of course is not limited to. It is balanced around a large varied squad against lots of enemies and making meaningful choices when selecting abilities, with different viable sub-roles within the class.
By default random bonus AWC abilities are disabled. The reasoning is that there is no need for it because there are enough options in the ability tree and the class has everything it needs to fill the role. Other roles are intended to be filled by other classes. AWC can of course be re-enabled through the config but there is no support to prevent duplicate/redundant abilities as is.

The Rifleman has three ability trees: Supportive fire, Overwatch & Logistics. The class rely on abilities and perks from other mods.

This class is inspired by Alpha115’s Rifleman Class and requires it for some abilities. I was hesitant to use the same name but in the end I thought it fit the most thematically. They do not conflict in any way and can be used together, mine uses a different class icon so they are easy to tell apart despite the shared name.
It also requires Alpha115’s Burner and Rocketeer Classes for some abilities.

Skills

Squaddie:
ShadowOps_RifleSuppression: Suppress a target with the Assault Rifle.
CoolUnderPressure: Gain +10 aim on overwatch shots and they can crit.
BonusRocketsAR: Gain +1 charge for each equipped rocket.

Corporal:
AL_Infantry_ShakeItOff: Gain bonus Will and recover fast from mentail ailments.
LW2WotC_LockedOn: Gain bonus aim and crit on shots against the previous target.
AMHitandRun: Gain bonus defense after moving.

Sergeant:
MZSecretHunt: Shot that bypass shield and prevents sustain.
CoveringFire: Overwatch can trigger on any action, gains bonus aim and applies an aim penalty to the target.
LW2WotC_Sprinter: Gain +2 mobility.

Lieutenant:
F_ReadyForAnything: Gain overwatch after taking a standard shot.
Sentinel: 50% chance to take additional overwatch shots when hitting.
MrCpouchGrenade: Gain a grenade slot for rockets or grenades.

Captain:
AT_PierceShot: Special shot with bonus pierce and crit chance.
EverVigilant: Go on overwatch after using both actions as movement.
AL_Infantry_StaggeringShot: Free accurate shot with reduced damage that reduces the target’s mobility and dodge.

Major:
AL_Patience: Gain bonus aim when missing a shot.
AL_Infantry_Opportunist: Gain bonus damage on overwatch and less aim penalty.
SkirmisherReturnFire: Shoot back once per turn when targeted by an attack.

Colonel:
ShadowOps_ImprovedSuppression: Suppression disorient the target.
F_CallForFire: Grant overwatch to nearby allies.
F_TheBiggerTheyAre: Gain bonus aim against target that cannot take cover.

Brigadier:
M31_Pinpoint: Special shot that has increased aim, critical chance and critical damage for each action point consumed.
AL_Infantry_ExplosiveAction: Activate to gain two bonus actions, lose one later.
ABB_Bombard: Gain a free frag grenade and a bonus use on rockets and grenades.

Encouraged Partner – Sergeant, 80 supplies: The Riflemen grants their bondmate bonus Will that scales with bond level.
Heads down – Captain, 120 supplies:The Riflemen receives a reduced hit result from area attacks by one step (crit>hit>graze>miss).
KPP_RocketRig – Colonel, 200 supplies: The Riflemen can carry rockets without any movement penalty.
