Description:

The Sharpshooter is a long range class that picks off high value targets with their Sniper Rifle. Keeps an eye out for threats with their scope.

As part of the class design, the Sharpshooter does not have a secondary weapon. They make up for it with accurate long range shots. They have the options to take multiple shots per turn which burns through ammo or to take less but more accurate shots. They can also be built into a medium range role that moves with the squad however they only benefit from Squad Sight while stationary.

The class is made with a modern themed playthrough in mind, but of course is not limited to. It is balanced around a large varied squad against lots of enemies and making meaningful choices when selecting abilities, with different viable sub-roles within the class.
By default random bonus AWC abilities are disabled. The reasoning is that there is no need for it because there are enough options in the ability tree and the class has everything it needs to fill the role. Other roles are intended to be filled by other classes. AWC can be re-enabled through the config but there is no support to prevent duplicate/redundant abilities as is.

The Sharpshooter has three ability trees: Sniper, Marksman & Watcher. The class rely on abilities and perks from other mods.

This class requires Lucubrations Sniper Class for some abilities. They do not conflict and can be used together.

Skills

Squaddie:
MZSquadsight: Gain Squad Sight, but it is disabled for the turn while moving.
LW2WotC_SteadyWeapon: Gain bonus aim on the next shot. The bonus is lost if you use actions or are wounded.
Battlespace: Gain +3 vision range. Once per mission it may be increased to +12 for the turn.

Corporal:
Lucu_Sniper_ZeroIn: Bonus aim and crit chance on the first shot if stationary the previous turn.
SingleReloadMrC: Reload one bullet twice per mission as a free action that requires both action points.
F_WarningShot: Take a shot just over the target’s head, dealing no damage but causes the target to panic.

Sergeant:
Lucu_Sniper_CoverTarget: Overwatch a single target with Covering Fire. This attack may critically hit. Requires one action point.
GrimyDoubleTap: Take a shot that refunds one action point.
LongWatch: Overwatch can trigger on Squad Sight.

Lieutenant:
Lucu_Sniper_TargetLeading: Gain +20 aim on reaction shots. Ignore 20 dodge.
ShadowOps_SnapShot: Take standard shots for a single action point with an aim penalty.
NimbleHands: Reload as a free action every three turns.

Captain:
LW2WotC_LoneWolf: Gain +10 aim and defense when 7 tiles from the nearest ally.
LW2WotC_HyperReactivePupils: Gain bonus aim for your next shot after a miss.
LW2WotC_DamnGoodGround: Gain +10 aim and defense against targets at a lower elevation.

Major:
Lucu_Sniper_Sharpshooter: Enemy high cover counts as low cover.
F_Compensation: Standard shots with two actions refund one action.
F_SurgicalPrecision: Enemy half bonus from cover. Does not apply to reaction shots.

Colonel:
GrimyPiercingShot: Free targeting shot that penetrates multiple enemies.
LW2WotC_PrecisionShot: Take a shot with bonus crit and crit damage.
Deadeye: Take a shot with a significant damage boost at an accuracy penalty.

Brigadier:
M31_SniperOverwatch: Overwatch all targets in a cone area.
InTheZone: Activated chained ability that refunds all actions on killing a target.
ShadowOps_FirstStrike: While concealed or flanking the target, deal 3 bonus damage and suffer no range penalties from Squadsight.

Accurate Partner – Sergeant, 80 supplies: The Sharpshooter grants their bondmate bonus Aim that scales with bond level
Pinpoint Accuracy – Captain, 120 supplies: The Sharpshooter’s shots can not be dodged.
Close Range – Colonel, 200 supplies: The Sharpshooter gains much better accuracy at close range.
