The Prismatic
After months of feedback and playtesting, we decided to release a new update for the Prismatic. This update has 2 major goals:
To make the Prismatic less powerful. It’s pretty well-known by this point that the Prismatic has some obscenely overpowered traits, so we’re dialing it back, but only a little. This was accomplished by nerfing the starting deck, removing colorless cards, and tweaking the balance of many cards. The starting deck and colorless card change can be reverted in the settings menu.
We’ve created even more synergy between characters and archetypes. The Powers and Retain builds specifically have gotten much more support than they had before, and they’re now an absolute blast to play. The Prismatic is even more synergistic and fun than ever before! 😀
Finally, I just wanted to thank everyone for the massive amount of support. Creating mods is really time consuming, and so seeing the love and joy from players around the world makes it all worth it. Thank you!
(Oh, and special thanks to 人群是那么像杨坤 and しょーとけーき for the translations!)
Do you love using Prismatic Shard, but feel like it always results in the same, good-stuff decks? Have you ever wanted a character that mashes up all of the amazing mechanics in Slay the Spire?
The Prismatic is a new class which combines the four vanilla classes into one new, ridiculous character, allowing for an insane amount of creative builds!
- 350 cards in the card pool! Unlike Prismatic Shard, every card can show up everywhere, so cards like White Noise can give you any power, and you can see any relic!
- Over 80 tweaked and reworked cards, made to combine the mechanics of each of the characters into one glorious mashup!
- 6 new relics, and 15 reworked relics!
- New potions!
- 7 new cards, made to combine multiple strategies, and create new ones too!
- Every run, you are given a Prismatic Strike or Defend, with a unique effect that changes with every entry into the Spire. These have various effects from across the 4 vanilla characters, and can help give you direction. For example,

Focused Strike can be a great reason to take some orb cards early.

Scraping Defend not only enables the 0 drop build, but it’s also great in the Mill build. What’s Mill, you ask?New Mechanics: - Mill: Mill combines Discard and Scry. A card is Milled if it is discarded, or if it’s discarded while Scrying. So, for example, if you place a Reflex into the discard pile when using a Cut Through Fate, you’ll draw 2 cards! Or, if you discard a Weave, you’ll get it right back!
- Target: Target is a new debuff that makes enemies take 50% more damage from non-attack sources. Whether it’s Orbs, Poison, Powers, Relics, or even Pressure Points, it works with everything!
- Debuff synergies: There are multiple new cards that reward you for inflicting your foes with as many different debuffs as possible, creating some truly unique decks.
This mod took us months, and has been playtested to death to create the most balanced, bug free experience as we could manage. But, we’re sure stuff slipped through the cracks. So, any feedback or bug reports are appreciated!
