Description:

Mod:https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3490268244

RENAME ANYONE FOR 1.16

Rename anyone after CK3’s 1.16 update
Go to any character’s character window and click the (N) button to rename the character
Based on MacAwesome’s Rename Anyone, this mod encountered UI issues after PDX’s 1.16 update, but I couldn’t wait to play with it (the original author hasn’t updated it, if he do, please support the original author)

Compatibility

Unfortunately, this mod may not be compatible with some other mods especially those modify the window_character.gui file under the gui folder. Due to the nature of CK3’s load order system, only one version of the file can be used, and the other will be overwritten.

If you encounter compatibility issues, I recommend trying this renaming mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3490268244
where the renaming is made as an interaction so that there are few compatibility issues

However, characters who are too far away to interact with are not able to be renamed.

If you really want to make this mod compatible with those mods, you can try the following steps:

1. Create a new mod and copy everything from this mod’s folder (usually located at your_steam_dirsteamappsworkshopcontent11583103474399078) — recommended; or directly modify this mod’s files.

2. Open the mod you want to make compatible, and copy the window_character.gui file from its gui folder into your new mod folder (or this mod’s folder).

3. Open window_character.gui, search for "CHARACTER_DEAD_TOOLTIP" (usually around line 990). After the first expand = {} , insert the following line:

hbox_mod_renamer = {}

This should resolve the issue.

I’m a beginner modder and I haven’t found a universal solution.
