So since CA is no longer updating the game at all even with patches, I’ve decided to do what little I can do for the remainder of the people who play the game and used existing art assets to make a few legendary characters. I can only do so much without using the work of other modders since I have to go through asking them for their permissions and stuff along with other copyright and legal issues so I’ve restricted my efforts to just recycling the game’s existing assets. This mod adds art from 8p art or eight princes art and MOH or the Mandate of Heaven DLC to add to the 190, 184 and 200 starting dates. Yes I also carried over their armor except for the eunuch arts.

This mod only works for the 190, 194 and 200 starting dates. You can still use this in 182 and 8p starts without the mod breaking the game, but you’ll have problems with some of the descriptions looking weird and stuff since it’s meant to be for the 3 starting dates mentioned above.

Art Swaps (or just look at the pics, pretty self explanatory in the pics):

– Dong Min has the "younger" Dong Zhuo art from MOH in 190
– Gongsun Du has He Jin art
– Lady Cai (Liu Biao’s nasty wife) has Empress He art
– Zhang Lu has Zhang Jue art
– Ze/Zhai Rong has Zhang Bao art
– Yang Feng has Zhang Liang art
– Lu Meng, Gao Gan, Shen Pei, Cao Hong, Cao Ang, Xu You, Cai Mao and Huang Zu has 8p art
– minor characters like Tian Feng, Yuan Xi has eunuch art

Changelog:

– Added Cao Hong to Cao Cao for 190, 194 and 200
– Added Chunyu Qiong to Yuan Shao for 190
– Added Gao Shun to Dong Zhuo in 190
– Added Ji Ling to Yuan Shu in 190
– Moved Shen Pei from the Han empire to Han Fu for 190, so Shen Pei joins Yuan Shao via annexation event
– Accurately made Hulao Gate deserted in 190 start, no Liu Chong did not and should never own it to start 190
– Made Gao Gan a vassal of Yuan Shao for 190
– Made Zhang Lu a vassal for Liu Yan in 190
– Made Ze/Zhai Rong a vassal of Tao Qian in 190

Compatibility:

This mod edits the startpos data for 190, 194 and 200. This mod DOES NOT edit any CEO data, it is compatible with other mods that edits CEO data but I can’t guarantee compatibility with other mods that edits startpos data. I was also told that it is compatible with Puzzle’s artwork mod, though I have never tried this myself so no guarantees.

Issues:

No known issues as of yet, the 3 Yellow Turban art characters have some skills regarding fervor but since fervor does nothing outside of anything so that’s not a problem. I also realize that the Yellow Turban characters comes with Yellow Turban ranks like "follower, student, etc" but these just reduces their salaries and doesn’t break the game.

Q: Does this mod carries over unique armor for the art swaps?
A: Yes, except for the Eunuch characters, just look at the pics, the pics tell more than a thousand words.

Q: Is this mod compatible with MTU, WU, and those other art mods?
A: As long as the art mods in question doesn’t edit the startpos data, it’s not compatible, no plans to make it compatible.

Q: Do you plan to improve the mod with feedback and opinions?
A: Sure, I’m not going to ditch the mod after I made it cause I actually care about my work and I don’t work for CA.

Q: Does this mod edit CEO files?
A: No, this mod does not touch any of the CEO files, it is compatible with other mods that edit CEO but not startpos.

Q: Is all of this mod your original work and does not include the work of others?
A: Yes, all of this is my original work with some idea from some friends on both the Chinese and English sides.

Q: Do you have other languages in the descriptions for the generals and the armor and those?
A: No, but if someone wants to feel free to ask and we can discuss the details.

Q: Are the Yellow Turban art characters going to break the game if I recruit and use them for anything?
A: No, fervor doesn’t exist outside of 182 so it does nothing, the "follower" and those ranks just reduce salary.

Q: Does this mod work with all your other mods?
A: Yes, it definitely should.

Q: Are you open to suggestions of how to improve the mod from others?
A: Yes, don’t be shy to write your suggestions in the comments and I’ll respond when I see it

Q: Will you keep updating this mod with improvements in the future?
A: Yes, as long as there is more room to be improved I will always keep updating this mod
