Description:
NEEDS SEALIFTER AND ANCHOR CHAIN FOR THE UNITS TO SHOW UP

Load the unit mods BEFORE the mission to make sure it all loads properly

First mission in what i plan to be a small series of missions regarding a fictional Great Asian War.

Known Issues

-Upon loading the mission may be quite choppy due to the amount of mods loaded, usually if you leave and load the mission again it should work smoothly, if that doesnt help check your graphics settings.

If you encounter any issues please report them in the comments, i’ll try to fix them if possible.

In this mission you play as the PLAN and PLAAF hunting the USS Virginia and her SAG in the Strait of Taiwan.

That should be it for the important stuff, hopefully you enjoy the mission if not then let me know what to avoid for next time.

Below is a quick backstory for how we got to this point, for those who care.

The date ingame cant go past 1991 so just pretend its 1996 on the clock.

Timeline of Events Leading to the Great Asian War

1993

China’s Political Crisis: Growing economic reforms under the Chinese government spark discontent among hardline communist factions within the military and party leadership. Concerns over rising capitalist influence and perceived weakening of central control lead to increased tensions within the People’s Liberation Army.

1994

The Military Coup in China: Hardline communist officers overthrow the government in Beijing, reaffirming Maoist principles. Massive purges and nationalization efforts destabilize the economy but cement military rule.
Japan’s Military Expansion: Alarmed by China’s aggressive stance, a nationalist party wins elections in Japan, leading to a large-scale JSDF military buildup across all branches.
Russian Support for China: A faction of Russian officers and oligarchs, angered by U.S. interventions in Iraq and Yugoslavia, covertly supports China. Financial aid, arms shipments, and military technology accelerate China’s military modernization.

1995

Kim Jong Un Takes Power: Following the death of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Un rises to power in North Korea. He aligns with China and increases military activity near the DMZ, escalating tensions with South Korea.
U.S. Military Buildup in the Pacific: Encouraged by a successful intervention in Yugoslavia, President Bill Clinton takes a more aggressive stance against China and North Korea, increasing military deployments.
U.S.-Japan Military Cooperation: The U.S. sells two Kitty Hawk-class aircraft carriers to Japan, renamed Zuikaku and Shōkaku, enhancing the JSDF’s power projection capabilities.
China-Russia Military Pact: With Russian assistance, China accelerates its naval and air modernization, producing advanced warships, fighter jets, and missile systems.

Early 1996

Escalating Tensions: China openly declares its intent to reclaim Taiwan, conducting large-scale military exercises in the Taiwan Strait.
U.S. and Japan Respond: The U.S. South Korea and Japan hold extensive military drills in the Pacific, further provoking Beijing.
North Korea Mobilizes: In coordination with China, North Korea increases military readiness, raising fears of a two-front conflict.
China Declares a Naval Blockade: The PLA Navy enforces a "defensive perimeter" around Taiwan, restricting international shipping under the guise of military exercises.

April 10, 1996

The Battle for Taiwan: The PLA launches its invasion, with the first phase targeting the USS Virginia and its Surface Action Group as it conducts a freedom of navigation exercise in the Taiwan Strait.

The world watches as the Pacific spirals into war.
