Henry VIII’s wives and accurate ruler titles
Historical flavour mod for Henry VIII’s marital misadventures (ignore the ‘Henry IX’ in the pictures, that’s just my save) and the end of the House of Tudor.
- The history of Henry’s six marriages
- The births of Mary I and Edward VI
- The seeking of a papal annulment and the foundation of Anglicanism (now only available via this event chain and edited to effect his second marriage and disinherit Mary)
- The Stuart succession and the Union of the Crowns
- Also had to be combined with my previous mod that retains the King/Queen titles for English and British empires
To trigger the Stuart succession, Elizabeth must be at least 65, have no heir, England must not be Catholic, and the non-Catholic Stuart King of Scotland needs to be aged 30-50.
On his ascession, James VI & I (with the correct age for your save but perhaps the wrong name/numeration) will form a PU with Scotland (as happened historically).
- Once you choose the option to seek a papal annulment whilst Spain/Castille is a great power, you will be railroaded into a course of events partly tracked to Henry’s age that will require you to convert to Anglicanism
- I’ve given Henry (and also Catherine of Aragon while she’s around) the immortal personality trait, just for natural causes, until his final marriage or if you don’t pursue an annulment with Catherine
- Non-canon wives of Henry VIII will appear as mistresses during his reign so I would advise against forming royal marriages during the periods when Henry is single, though it won’t break anything
Achievements incompatible, requires the Rule Britannia DLC, and the event pictures are designed to work with The Great Exhibition.
