Working "Rebirth" Gas Mask (& Base)

Description:
The gas mask from the mission "Rebirth" in Call of Duty: Black Ops. It can also be used as a base to make other gas masks.

It will protect you against poison, acid, nerve gas and radiation… unless you shatter it by taking damage.

For those wondering, I did make the Pressurized External Suit addon, then eventually turned it into a gas mask base, and now decided that this is the addon that’s more appropriate for that purpose.

To make your own gas mask, Copy this pastebin[pastebin.com] up until the part that tells you not to mess any further, and make that your SWEP. Edit values to suit your needs.

Q. – What does this work with?
A. – Works with GBombs 5, Bio-Annihilation 2 and JMod (and their extensions). M9K too, but you must type M9KExplosiveNerveGas 0 in the console.

Q. – What addons appear on the screenshots and the video?
A. – The map is Shadow Moses Island, The guy in the thumbnail is a CoD:BO2 CDC agent, the space helmet is from the Pressurized External Suit.

Q. – I have a playermodel that already has a mask and I don’t want them to overlap.
A. – Type cl_gasmask_drawthirdperson 0 in the console.

Q. – Can the filter on this mask run out?
A. – No, but masks made with this base may have that feature.

Q. – Can I bind a button to toggle the gas mask?
A. – bind <key> "use weapon_bo1_gasmask". Make sure you include the "" and exclude the <>.

Q. – It won’t muffle sounds when I put it on.
A. – For the muffling to work properly, you must be in first person view when putting it on or taking it off.

  • VHS Camera Overlay (Covers your screen with a missing texture)
