DD2 Plague Doctor Skills
Gives Plague Doctor 4 new skills inspired by her new skills in Darkest Dungeon 2:
Ounce of Prevention: Buffs party’s blight, bleed, and disease resistance.
Indiscriminate Science: Heals, removes mark and stun. Bonus healing vs marked and stunned.
Cause of Death: Fire attack. Bonus damage vs bleed and blight, but cures them. Ignores PROT. Marks.
Magnesium Rain: All-ranks cleave fire attack. Clears corpses.
Also tweaks some of Plague Doctor’s pre-existing skills (again, based on their appearance in DD2):
Noxious Blast: Small blight chance bonus vs marked.
Blinding Gas: Stun removed, debuffs accuracy instead. Small chance to mark.
Incision: Small bleed chance bonus vs marked.
Battlefield Medicine: Heals slightly more.
Emboldening Vapours: Lasts 3 rounds. Once-per-battle limit removed.
Disorienting Blast: Applies a damage debuff. Can’t hit rank 1.
A few remarks:
Compared to vanilla DD1 Plague Doctor, this version has a bit stronger healing and damage.
The best rank to keep her in is still rank 3, but if she gets pulled into rank 2, it’s not the end of the world, thanks to Indiscriminate Science, Blast skills, and melee skills.
I’m tempted to say that my favorite change is the additional healing, since having a wider variety of healers is nice, but I said that already, so I’ll say my favorite change here is (at least in theory) a nerf. By that, I mean that I’m glad to see the two-rank stun gone. Sure, I let Hellion keep hers, but that’s with a downside and a requirement. Getting to just shut down the enemy backline (which is often a greater immediate threat than the frontline) at no cost just feels silly to me.
