Many empires have weakened with France losing territory and China becoming a theocratic state after the Taiping Rebelion the American Revolution also failed strengthening England who made deals with others to form a Federal Union. Germany became a socialist state along with others changing with Italy and Spain becoming expansionist and more native states in Africa forming. Kashmir and Kurdistan became independent due to their resilience against others encroaching on their territory. Other nations grew via diplomacy such as Sweden and Portugal.
