Description:

This mod brings a new explosive item to the game and turns any Expansion AI that possess it into Mad Bombers.

The Proximity Bomb

An improvised explosive with a proximity fuse attached. It admits a light beeping noise audible for a short distance. The beeping rapidly increases as the player draws near to it. Once the player enters the kill zone the bomb will explode after a very short delay. The bomb can only be defused by destroying it.

  • Can be spawned with the CLE or any spawn tool such as Spawner Bubanku to leave nice surprises for your players
  • Can be equipped on AI hand slot or inventory
  • Can be added to zombie loot (note that zombie inventory does not spawn until the zombie dies. This could lead to a player being unexpectedly blownup as the bomb will only exist and beep after the zombie dies)
Mad Bombers

When a Expansion AI carries this bomb in its hands it will act different than other AI. If a player gets closer than 40m to one of these AI the AI will go crazy, start yelling, lock onto the player and pursue them trying to get close enough to detonate the bomb. The AI will be persistent while not impossible and show some disregard for it’s own safety. Mad Bombers that have locked onto a player will pursue until LOS has been broken or their are no audible cues to the targets location for long enough that the target is considered lost. The initial detection works through walls enabling you to set traps with hidden AI. Otherwise bomb equipped AI act as normal.

  • Equip the bombs using Expansion AI Loadouts
  • Mad Bombers can detect players through walls when not already locked on to a target. Put one in a room and it will lock on to any approaching player, start yelling and charge as it exits the room.
  • Mad Bombers should not be given weapons and the mod tries to prevent them from picking up weapons but sometimes they do anyway. They may prefer to attack with weapons vs charging the player.
Installation & Requirements

Needs to be on the client and server.
Expansion AI is required. I recommend Bundle.

FAQ
  • To equip AI with the bomb add it to the loadout in the HAND slot
  • Mad Bombers are best spawned near the player in a out of view area. They will run to the player if close enough
  • You need Expansion AI
  • Naked AI are a sign your loadout file is broken
  • This is all experimental fun for my server, enjoy and let me know about any issues you may find. Discord is the best way.
  • This mod does not spawn AI. It enhances AI equipped with the bomb. All AI settings such as move speed are set by your spawn method.
  • Recommended to not use huntmode 1, 5 or 6 if using dynamic AI to spawn Mad Bombers. Avoid dynamically generated waypoints if possible in your spawn method, let this mod handle them.
