Starting Defense Only
Stop your AI from being eliminated within the first five turns!
Strictly a starting defense mod.
No extra gold/iron/trade income. Every nation gets two ballista towers and a commander crossbow unit. All units are stationary. The defense is enough of a buffer without breaking up the vanilla balance, and the commander unit prevents the AI from losing all its commanders early on.
TO BE ABSOLUTELY CLEAR ON WHAT THIS MOD DOES: this mod adds three starting units – two stationary ballista towers and a stationary crossbow commander unit in order to prevent the AI from dying to random things in the early game. See images for unit details.
Works for players and AI.

This mod works with all modded and vanilla classes.
I suggest enabling Common Cause for team games since the spawning for teammates is wonky (nothing game breaking, but it seems that the first player gets all the commanders of their other teammates). Common Cause is an option that prevents teammates from being eliminated as long as their teammates have commanders/citadels.
You can combine this mod with the other starting defense mods to have a better defended starting capital.
The only case where this mod might have conflicts is if you have over 3000+ custom added units. This mod adds two custom units so keep that in mind.
