Crusader states coat of arms *Updated*
This mods adds several new coat of arms for Kingdom and Duchy titles in the middle east, if the titles are held by christian rulers.
I was never really satisfied with how the base game title coat of arms for the middle east weren’t dynamic enough. Patrum Scuta adressed this and made some nice addition but I wasn’t fully satisfied with it either so I created this as my first ever mod.
Kingdom of Jerusalem:
- Duchy of Urdunn (arguably more historical version of the Saint-Omer arms that Patrum Scuta added)
- Duchy of Palestine (a different version of the associated arms of Jerusalem, personal preference)
- County of Acre (historical, as was Patrum Scuta, but I like this one more)
- County of Tiberias (added the missing blue thing, making it more historical and different from Bohemia)
- County of Jerusalem: (changed to another associated arms of Jerusalem instead of the Milly arms of Patrum Scuta which would historically be for the city of Nablus)
- Baronies like Cesarea, Hebron, Nablus, Ar-Ramla. etc.
Kingdom of Syria:
- Kindom title itself (not historical as it never existed but more plausible and in line with Jerusalem)
- Duchy of Damascus (changed into an intentional violation of the rules of tinctures "armes à enquerre", as is Jerusalem for example)
- County of Tripoli (Patrum Scuta was arguably historical but now it’s more "timeless", showing an eight-pointed star with a cross inside, as this star was a historic symbol associated with Tripoli and found on coins minted there)
Kingdom of Jazira:
- Kingdom title to resemble a Cross (instead of looking similar to Bulgaria)
- Duchy of Diyarrabia (more interesting design)
- Duchy of Euphrates (changed to be more unique)
Kingdom of Mesopotamia:
- Kingdom title changed to resemble a cross
- added coa to all Duchy titles (as Patrum Scuta did not touch those)
Kingdom of Arabia:
- Kingdom title changed to cross
- several Duchy titles edited to be less random and more in line with each other
Kingdom of Egypt:
- Kingdom Title
- Duchy of Sinai
- Duchy of Delta (looked like historical Hebron before)
- Duchy of Alexandria
- Duchy of Cairo
- Duchy of Eastern Desert
- Duchy of Al-Wahat
- changed all county coa’s in nothern Egypt (Duchy of Cairo, Delta, Alexandria) to be more interesting and semi historical (historically inspired) as well
Kingdom of Yemen:
- Kingdom title
- All Duchy titles since they did not have any dynamic coa’s before
Cyprus if held by Latins:
- Duchy changed to a more generic but historical version as represented in the Camden Roll, instead of House Lusignan from before *NOT WORKING*
- Kingdom changed to another historical version as shown in the Walford’s Roll
(an interesting coa as it is like Jerusalem also in violation of the rule of tinctures)
[a gold cross on green background with red roundels around it]
Kingdom of Africa:
- All Duchies and Counties have now a different coa when held by Christians
Also changed:
Empire of Arabia: (but why would you form it if you could form Outremer instead?)
Empire of Outremer: now being an assembly of the Kingdom titles under it
Bonus:
– Monastery of St. Catherine has now a Christian coa if held by Christian faith
- Cyprus not working as intended
- Coat of arms for Mesopotamia and North Africa may end up blank after changing ownership (adviced to disable the mod if not playing as Crusaders) *partially fixed*
load this mod after Patrum Scuta as it otherwise does not overwrite it
– expanding to Kingdom of Africa *done*(maybe adding more counties in the future) *also done*
– fixing titles staying blank after changing ownership to non-christian rulers *partially done*
– more counties
– map color change when held by christian faith (instead of muslim green)
– possible name change of some places when held by christians
– house coa’s in 1178 (Ibelin for example)
Big thanks to @bropossible for helping to fix the mod!
