This battle based on a part of China Civil War during 1946-1949.
In early 1947, KMT (KuoMinTang) army try to eliminate the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) in Shan’xi Province.
KMT general 张灵甫 (Zhang Ling fu) decide to let his 74th Infantry Division be used as bait, to lure the enemy main force appear and support his allies to surround and eliminate PLA army.
As 74th Infantry Division, they have to hold the hill and attract the enemy as long as possible.
In real history, 74th Infantry Division was eliminated by PLA army due to allies failed to work together as planned, because PLA Army is also tenaciously blocking the allies of 74th Division.
