Got open outdoor farms and no drone wants to work the fields? Now there is a fix for that.
Better Open Farms has one job to do … Make the Open Farms harvest their crops.
The vanilla in game open farm harvest functions are inadequate for the farms after your forests mature.
If you have dense mature forests you will notice over time your open farms get less and less harvested until drones just plain old refuse to harvest them at all.
Better Open Farms introduces a new A.I. that tracks down ready to pick plots on the open farms and twice a day forces nearby drones to go and harvest the ready crops.
Features

- Vanilla in game functions left alone for Trees, Grass and Lichen.
- Can be shut down from Mod Config Reborn screen during a game and returned to vanilla function using Mod Config Reborn
- Interval can be changed from twice to once a day or off using Mod Config Reborn.

Mod Config Settings
- Interval – Default is twice a day. Set the interval the open farms are checked per day for crops ready to pick. Setting of off means turn off Better Open Farms and return control to the in game mechanics.
- Sow seed aggression – Standard means use the default amount of seeds to try and grow crops in the open farms, setting this higher seeds more empty plots than standard at the expense of more seeds. It does not speed harvest though. Still have to wait.
Inspiration
I hate lazy drones and I like crops.
Future Development
I may add features as needed in the future. High on my list is new crops.
