"Mountain Patrol" [SP/COOP]

Kunar province, Afghanistan.
A Soviet support base near the Army-occupied area in Kunar province had been under continuous attacks from the Mujahideen during the last months of 1984, but now the insurgents have stopped their activities in the area. The high command suspects that the guerrillas are preparing a more numerous offensive to take back the valley of Ovallestan, the last area before the fully occupied territories.
To perform counter-insurgency surveillance, a reconnaissance squad of the 345th Independent Guards Airborne Regiment, codenamed ‘Orel’ 1, will be deployed near the village of Etnikora to locate any enemy presence in the valley of Hysad. It is unknown if the local population is supportive to the Soviet forces, but they may be a useful source of information for the operation.

Play the role of a sergeant of a reconnaissance squad of the Soviet VDV in a counter-insurgency operation in Northern Afghanistan, during the last years of the Soviet occupation of the country, in the high and pronounced mountainous chains of the province of Kunar, one of the most dangerous places in Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan War (1979-1989)
