Description:

This mod allows players to increase the cost of technologies and civics in up to three designated eras, effectively prolonging those eras. The scaling multiplier can be set from 150% to 2000%. (Note: You must specify the era(s) and multiplier(s) in the Advanced Options under Advanced Settings — no effect is applied by default.)

Have you ever focused too much on economic development and barely used your stylish, unique military units before advancing to the next era?

Have you rushed through science and culture while realizing your empire was still confined to a small corner of the continent?

Have you struggled with rapid technological progress during conquest, only to find that your military units become obsolete just as they reach the enemy’s doorstep?

Previously, there was " Take Your Time " to uniformly increase tech and civic costs, but didn’t that make the early game feel excessively long?

The Custom Era Prolongation mod gives players the freedom to actively choose which era(s) — up to three — they want to extend, along with the desired multiplier (from 150% to 2000%). For historical leaders who shine during specific periods, this mod enables you to extend their prime era. Additionally, you won’t have to endure an overly long prelude before entering that era, nor miss out on earlier wonders.

Increasing the cost of science and civics also indirectly grants civilizations more time to accumulate production and mobility within each era. If you’ve felt that your empire — whether built through expansion or conquest — has been too small relative to your ambitions, this mod will help you expand territorial size and economic scale during the designated era(s). Doesn’t this make classical giants like Han China and Rome feel even more immersive?

As for gameplay mechanics, this mod has little to do with power-gaming — it’s more like a minor historical flavor patch. (•̀ᴗ•́)و

**After collecting over 30 likes… I’m not sure what else I could add… Maybe rework the previous cultural/tech diffusion system? Or release a new version adjusting terrain and feature yields? Perhaps…
