Description:

Hello everyone! SeaLine49 here and after a month and a half long break, I finally return to making Rolling Line mods.

HISTORY

This one is the quite infamous SDP40F diesel locomotive built by EMD between 1973 and 1974 for Amtrak. This was the first locomotive to be built new for Amtrak. However, the one thing these engines were known for were their many derailments. They were caused by rough track contortions, the harmonic vibration between the engine and coaches, and the water sloshing in the steam generators. They were retired in 1977 in favor of the F40Ph and the ones that were not scrapped were given to the Santa Fe. One engine, 6976 (originally AMTK 644) is preserved At the Nevada State Railroad Museum.

This livery is part one of a 3 part pack. Part 2 will have a special Pride Variant (for Pride Month of course), and part 3 will contain Phase 2 and 3 paint schemes.
