Half Speed
This mod was created by request. It alters the default production, research, population growth, and ship travel speeds so that everything takes twice as long. Selecting slower game speeds in the advanced setup options will create even slower speeds. It works with other mods including 5X, but you should put this mod last (at the bottom) in the mods list in game. Details below.
Original speed settings:
Production:
- Very Slow: Buildings cost 2x as much
- Slow: Buildings cost 4/3 as much
- Normal (default): 1x
- Fast: 4/5 cost
- Very Fast: 2/3 cost
Research:
- Very Slow: Techs cost 1.5x as many research points
- Slow: 1.25x as many RP
- Normal (default): 1x
- Fast: 0.75x RP
- Very Fast: 0.5x RP
Population Growth:
- Very Slow: Requires 1.5x as much surplus food to get to the next population
- Slow: requires 1.25x as much food
- Normal: 1x
- Fast (default): requires 0.75x as much food
- Very Fast: requires 0.5x as much food
Modified speed settings:
Production:
- Very Slow: Buildings cost 4x as much
- Slow: Buildings cost 8/3 as much
- Normal (default): 2x
- Fast: 8/5 cost
- Very Fast: 4/3 cost
Research:
- Very Slow: Techs cost 3x as many research points
- Slow: 2.5x as many RP
- Normal (default): 2x
- Fast: 1.5x RP
- Very Fast: 1x RP
Population Growth:
- Very Slow: Requires 3x as much surplus food to get to the next population
- Slow: requires 2.5x as much food
- Normal: 2x
- Fast (default): requires 1.5x as much food
- Very Fast: requires 1x as much food
