Bigger Bombs (for fighters)
Increases the armor penetration of bombs so heavy fighters and bombers do more damage. Damage against colonies should be unchanged.
The change does not appear in the stats of bombs. Most changes to weapons don’t display correctly, but I made lasers with 10000 armor penetration and the attack rating of the ship was in the 1000’s as was the damage it did. So changes to armor penetration do work, it’s the display that’s wrong.
I considered doubling the damage and size of bombs so fighters, which igrore weapon size, would have increased damage output but the size/damage ratio of capital ships against planets would be the same. However that would make it harder to equip frigates with bombs so I went with this change.
Nuclear bombs should do increased damage to everything up to Xentronium armour, and Neutronium bombs more damage to everything short of heavy Xentronium.
Example: A fusion bomb against tritanium armor will do 2.3x more damage than it did before.
