Ducky’s Crash Protection (READ DESCRIPTION)

i was bored…. so…. Everyone’s been in that frustrating situation… Your game freezes solid, leaving you wondering whether to painstakingly restart your PC or just wait it out, hoping for the best. Well, that’s where Ducky’s Crash Protection comes in!

This essential addon prevents those agonizing freezes and crashes caused by overwhelming the ABSOLUTELY ANCIENT game engine. It intelligently monitors your game’s performance in two key ways:

FPS Drop Detection: When your frames per second (FPS) drop below a threshold you define (and for a duration you specify), Ducky’s Crash Protection will automatically activate.

Spawned Model Overload: It also keeps an eye on the number of props, ragdolls, and other models you’ve spawned. If this count exceeds a set limit, the protection kicks in.

Note: this mod was tested on the normal branch, not the 64 bit branch. There may be issues.

Console commands (Settings):

𝗙𝗣𝗦 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗗:

gmod_crash_fps_cleanup_enabled <0 or 1>:

1: Enables the automatic cleanup that triggers when your FPS drops below a certain level for a sustained period. (Default: 1)

0: Disables this feature.

gmod_crash_fps_threshold <number>: Sets the target FPS value. If your FPS drops below this number, the cleanup timer will start. (Default: 10)

gmod_crash_fps_check_duration <number>: Sets how long (in seconds) your FPS must stay below the fps threshold before a cleanup is triggered. (Default: 1)

gmod_crash_fps_duration_enabled (BUGGY) <0 or 1>: Enables or disables the duration check for FPS-based cleanup. (Default: 1)

1: FPS must stay below the threshold for the time specified by gmod_crash_fps_check_duration.

0: Cleanup activates immediately if FPS drops below the threshold, ignoring the duration.

𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗟 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗗:

gmod_crash_model_cleanup_enabled <0 or 1>:

Enables or disables automatic cleanup based on spawned model count. (Default: 1)

gmod_crash_model_threshold <number>:

Manually adjust the maximum number of spawned models before cleanup triggers. (Default: 200)

gmod_crash_set_model_cleanup_intensity <level>: Sets the automatic model cleanup intensity. Replace <level> with one of the following:

low (350 Models)

medium (200 Models)

high (100 Models)

extreme (50 Models)
