Interactive World – Extended Carbon
This mod will extend the importance of the Carbon resource which is introduced by Interactive World.
Due to the fact that Carbon cannot be found in many of the most common areas where to build a base, it will likely be necessary to create a secondary mini base just to mine Carbon, if you’re in a phase in which you need a constant stream of Metal Bars (and therefore of Carbon). I honestly find it to be quite an interesting challenge! 🙂
The secondary base has even more sense if you use the mod Shoddy Firearms into Interactive World as well, because then you will need to mine Sulfur and Saltpeter too (to produce ammos), and they usually can be found in the same biomes where Carbon is.
- Need Carbon (and Iron Plates) to produce Steel Bars. Though it only require 0.5 Carbon (and 4 Iron Plates) to produce one bar.
- added Carbon deposits to several Biomes. Though it will be available mostly on forest/swamp territories and some harsh/corrupted environments.
- added Carbon to several shops and vendors, including the Hive materials merchant, who should periodically visit your Outpost if it’s in the middle-west part of the map.
- Added the Carbon Generator to produce energy from carbon. It is bigger and harder to build than the Charcoal generator but it produces more energy.
- Slightly reduced the building cost and the energy output of the Charcoal generator (to increase interest for Carbon energy)
- added dedicated storage for Carbon
- Added a Survival Tech called "the Forge Masters" which enables the production of Steel Bars and Copper Alloy, rather than having them unlocked by "Cheap and Dirty" as it is by default in Interactive World
- require 5 Iron Plates to build the Outdoor Forge (it was Lumber and it really didn’t make sense…)
- Price of Steel Bars will be increased because in Kenshi most of the items have the price dynamically calculated based on the materials used to produce it.
This mod is part of a series of mods I made to extend Interactive World. Check out the others:
