Description:

Step onto the tragic battlefield of The Battle of Čevrntija, also known as The Battle of Leget, a brutal engagement that took place on September 6, 1914, during the Serbian Srem Offensive. This pivotal clash saw the Serbian Timok Division I facing off against the Austro-Hungarian 29th Division. While the Serbian forces valiantly attempted to hold their vital bridgehead across the Sava River near Šašinci, they suffered a devastating defeat, with approximately 6,500 Serbian soldiers and officers falling, compared to around 2,000 Austro-Hungarian casualties. Today, the "Polje Leget" memorial stands as a testament to those who perished in this significant battle.

Our Ravenfield map meticulously recreates this historic site, allowing players to experience the challenging terrain and fierce combat of this often-overlooked but crucial WWI engagement:

Authentic Serbian Village of Šašinci: Fight through detailed houses, farmyards with period-accurate buildings like corn cribs (čardak), smokehouses (pušnica), and outdoor toilets (poljski WC).

Layered Trench and Defensive System: Navigate the historically inspired trenches and defensive positions, reinforced with sandbags, that guarded the bridgehead and the approaches to the village.

Dynamic and Varied Battlefield: Engage in intense close-quarters combat within the village, traverse open fields featuring varied crops and natural barriers, and push through fortified lines.

Strategic Capture Points: Objectives are strategically placed to simulate the ebb and flow of this brutal battle, from the river crossing to the heart of the village.
