Unsung Samurai Armor
By public request the long awaited Unsung Samurai Armor set, dreamed up by Pablociu on reddit. Whatever happened to the mod they were intending to make, we do not know, but here is a carefully curated version of their idea.
No-one knew what vanilla parts were originally used, so they could not remake it.
For me it was a challenge I could not deny!
I had to combine the two headpieces and make the leather dust coat an undershirt for everything to be possible to wear at the same time. The hanging thing on the neck is a gas/dustmask, a belt slot item. And yeah combining this attire required a lot of mesh adjustments to prevent clipping (fingers crossed).
I carried on from the inspiration image to adjust the darkness and color tone of the black, to better suit Kenshi’s color scheme, so they may or may not be looking good with other modded black armor. IDK, let me know.
LOAD ORDER, CONFLICTS and IMPORT
Load anywhere, standalone, no conflicts, does not require import, but if you do not see it on NPCs, import (the armors are rare to spawn on NPCs tho).
Compatible with the Community Part map. Does not require it, but can be used with it.
Cut Efficiency as in vanilla (needs a separate patch for NCE).
STATS
Where items were combined, the coverage is a carefully calculated combination, which does not exceed 100%.
Same goes with stats, I tried to make them make sense. In general combined items get stats as if you wore those two pieces separately, but not stacking all the way. So you get managed bonus and managed malus.
Other items’ coverages and stats are the same as their vanilla counterpart.
RESEARCH and CRAFTING
The research is called ‘Unsung Samurai Armour’ and it is available under smithing category, after you have unlocked the ‘Leather Armour Crafting’ research.
Cost is 1 book, 3 hours.
The crafting benches,’Unsung Leather Armour Crafting Bench Extension’ and ‘Unsung Heavy Armour Smithy Extension’, are found under CRAFTING. Both items are unlocked by the research and they cost peanuts to build (couple of iron plates and building materials).
VENDORS
Light versions can be bought from the Armor King 33% chance to spawn.
Black versions can be found in Mourn. 33% chance to spawn.
MODDERS
All pieces are alterations of vanilla meshes. Go to town. No need to mention me.
