What does this mod do?:
This mod completely replaces the Rise of the Scots event with a decision that only the King/Queen of Scotland/Alba/Pictland can take. When the decision is taken, all lands and people in the Dejure kingdom of Scotland that are one of six cultures will change to the Scottish culture. I had never really liked how the Scots culture was integrated into the game and wanted to make it a bit different.
What are those six cultures?:
Gaelic
Pictish
Irish
Cumbrian
Norse
Anglo-Saxon
Character Culture Shift Example:
The rulers of Scotland and their families will also change to Scots as long as they are one of the six cultures, and reside IN the kingdom of Scotland. For example, the children of Ragnarr Lodbrok all have lands accross Europe. Ivars land being in Scotland. When the decision is taken, Ivar and his children, guests, courtiers, spouse will change to the scots culture. But his brothers and their family outside of Scotland will remain with their original culture.
Can the AI do this?:
The AI does have the ability to take the decision but only after Janurary 1st 900. There is a 65% chance of the AI taking the decision every 3 years, all the effects are the same.
What does the decision taker gain?:
The decision taker will gain 5,000 legitimacy, 10,000 prestige, 1,000 renown, and the nickname "Sovereign of the Scots".
Are there any requirements for the decision?:
There is a cultural acceptance requirement between the six cultures with the decision takers culture being the one that needs 10 cultural acceptance with every other culture listed. To restate, those six cultures are Gaelic, Pictish, Irish, Cumbrian, Norse, and Anglo-Saxon.
