Southern Cross Commonwealth
This mod replaces the Republic of the Southern Cross with the Southern Cross Commonwealth.
An extra project is now available for research that will extend the Commonwealth’s claims to include Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
This expansion is based on the concept that Australia is a major regional player and they have strategic and economic ties with the extra countries being joined to.
Likewise, the idea that these countries would willingly submit themselves to a singular republic isn’t very realistic. Instead, such countries would join a unified commonwealth (as in protecting the common good) of the region during a time of crisis while technically retaining some autonomy.
It is a union of protection and the common good, not a union of conquest.
