The Torrent is the ultimate Optimized small-form battleship. Mounting the maximum of any Manual weapon type, From Light to Triple Heavies, plus 28 Turrets, this ship is BIG firepower from a pup airframe. She’s also designed to carry up to 6 Heavy Artillery turrets + 20 Additional standard model turrets.
With 6 x 6-Tall 3×3 component Bays, The Torrent will hold Drone Bays, Large Shield extenders, and even Advanced Turbines inside it’s spacious component bays, each inndividually xeno-blast-proofed. The Ship’s main Generator Bay is 6 blocks tall, for easy Dual-Advanced Generator, Small fusion, or Large Fusion compatibility.
The ship’s Armor is optimized for maximum Weight to hardness, with a mix of Xeno-thins and Solid Xeno for the absolute best protection at the lightest weights, with it’s full thruster arrangement, this is a VERY fast, Very maneuverable battleship.
Full-spectrum decoy assortment keeps enemy fire on your armor, where it belongs, protecting your weapons and your components from enemy fire. The Torrent’s entire suite of thrusters are armored 360 degrees from all outside fire, and internally blast-proofed against one another and the ship’s internal components.
With a default compliment of 2 Drone bays, and 6 pads, The Torrent launches a…. Torrent, of drones at the outset of every engagement, providing great protective cover for each attack run, and some nice supplemental damage.
Using the game’s MOST EFFICIENT THRUSTER ARRANGEMENT, The Torrent uses 7x Adv plasma thrusters for massive efficiency benefit, giving you unheard-of levels of Weapon-CPU for a Core7 airframe, whilst maintaining top speeds.
The Torrent is upgradable and expandable, fill out it’s remaining thruster bays to add even more steering and speed. This is a ship which is Optimally powerful as a Core7, but will easily take you through the entire game, it has all of the space needed for maximum Shield strengths, and will hold nearly all of the game’s available weapon loadout as well.
This ship replaces ‘ The Ballantide ‘, being Better armored, more weapon CPU, having more component space, more weapon space, more turret space, better maneuverability, as well as taller component bays for the addition of Drone bays. It also uses less redundant decorative blocks for a better overrall weight to armor ratio.
This ship is an absolute joy to fly, it is fast, lethal, and compact. I can confidently say this is the absolute best Core7 on the workshop… Until I make something better.
If you have any doubts, I’ve posted a video of this ship defeating an Infector, Decimator, and Imerat… With my shields turned OFF. If I can win these fights without using my shield, you can certainly do it with yours turned on. This ship is your guaranteed path to Quantums, enjoy.
