Modded Backer Heroes (Manual Install)
This mod allows modded heroes to be spawned as backer heroes by entering the class name in the stage coach.
Heroes will spawn as a locked canon version:
You cannot rename them.
You cannot change their skin.
This can be remedied via manual save editing however. (Check out the pinned discussion thread)
Only try to call heroes that you have active on your save – your game will crash otherwise.
Be careful not to spawn too many heroes at once – the stagecoach can only handle up to 32 heroes and will crash if you have more.
Spread out hero callings over a few weeks if needed.
Due to the backer file not being loaded via mods, this mod needs to be manually installed. Please read the instructions carefully.
Make a backup of the "backer_heroes.json" file (in case you want to uninstall this mod):
To install my mod you need to copy my edited file:
And paste it into the folder in the DarkestDungeon directory:
Overwrite the existing file.
Done!
You can call heroes in the stagecoach by pressing enter and typing their class name!
Class names are always spelled the way they can be found on their mod page.
Examples:
The Squire can be called by typing Squire.
The Messiah can be called by typing Messiah.
