Montagnards – Vietnam War

This is a very small infantry faction made using SOG Prairie Fire, US General Equipment & Accessories, SOG Nickel Steel, RTBF Gear and S&S assets. I have tried to base the faction addon on research of Montagnard militias using photographs from reference books. Montagnards (so called by the French colonists of Indochina) typically lived in the mountains of Vietnam and were otherwise known as ‘indiginous peoples’. There were many different ethnic groups all with their own languages, customs and traditions. They were generally anti-communist and therefore allied themselves with the Free World militaries who they hoped would bring them independence.
There are some .paa errors that pop up the first time you place some of the units down. This is due to some kind of error in RTBF Gear mod that is unresolved so there isn’t anything I can do about it. Let’s hope they have time to fix it when they can.
I have given the units Chinese voices to allow for better immersion when in firefights.
I used ALIVE’s ORBAT creator to make the factions so you cannot override the units’ loadouts unlesss you have ALIVE loaded. I don’t know how to get around this i’m afraid. You can still add items and change gear once the mission starts through Arsenal/boxes etc.

INFANTRY
Bru & Hmong Tribal Groups (1967) – lightly armed with simple firearms and vicious hand held weaponry.
Rhade and Nung Tribal Groups (1967) – lightly armed with simple firearms and extra vicious hand held weaponry.
Mobile Strike Force (Mike Force) Nung Group (1967) with US counterparts – Armed to the teeth
