Ever dreamed of being an industrialist, constructing workshops, factories and assembly lines, bringing science and mass production to Elysium to drown your enemies under an unending tide of constructs, cannon fodder and eventually giant golems and other war machines ? Then this mod is for you !
Presenting Enchanting Inc, where destroying the planet as the Enchanter or spamming Nectrotods and Guardians is no longer the end all be all of the class !
This mod adds a new ritual caster type, the Builder Constructs, that can be created by Enchanters. The constructs themselves are rather pathetic units, although they are commanders, and while their rituals of mastery are vastly cheaper than their creators’, they are uncapable of spellcasting. What they are capable of is building a variety of industrial installations, from modest workshops, fabricating a handful of soldiers, to gargantuan assembly lines pumping out entire armies, while also enhancing your economy !
These buildings come in a wide variety of flavors, from Iron factories to Undead assembly lines (yes, really) ! Each produce their own brand of units passively on a turn by turn basis, creating them in their tile, ranging from simple longdeads to literal juggernauts. They are also quite potent defensive structures, summoning the units they produce to defend them from attackers.
There are three tiers of industrial buildings, Workshop, Factory and Assembly Line. Only one of each tier and each type can be present at any one time. You may, for example, only have a single armaments factory in a city. But you can combine types and tiers alike. So a city might have an armaments workshop and an armaments factory, as well as an arcane factory and an arcane assembly line all at the same time ! Their economy bonuses stack but are not multiplicative.
Please note that you may still destroy the terrain any industrial building is built upon, and the factories will remain, but will cease producing more units every turn. All of the sprites for the industrial facilities and the megamortar are also placeholders.
Your level 3 enchanters will also gain a new ritual, build Megamortar. The megamortar is a strategic artillery gun capable of unleashing hell on all enemies within the same plane through a free, if AP intensive, ritual cast by the mortar itself. The megamortar itself is also a potent defensive structure, capable of bringing whole armies to their knees with devastating artillery barrages.
